Improving Safety and Security

Vredekloof Safe and Clean

One of the most important goals of the Vredekloof CID, is to make Vredekloof a safe neighborhood for all its residents. Therefor, the emphasis for the following months will definitely be on safety and security. We have implemented the following already:

  • Guards at the 2 entrances of Vredekloof
  • Additional patrols on bicycles
  • Increased vehicle patrols

Securing the perimeter

We will soon start with the planting of “carissa macrocarpa” (num num) and “dovyalis caffra” (kei apple) shrubs all around Vredekloof. This will improve the security and the aesthetics (beauty) of our area. Although it will take some time to grow, the sooner we start, the sooner we will see results.

Due to 2 recent incidents near the R300 servitude and the N1, we will also start with a system whereby we will patrol on the outside there as well.

Upgrading of our area

You might have noticed, that we already painted the “Vredekloof” wall and we will do some gardening there as well.

As mentioned before, the upgrading will be an ongoing process and we therefore invite you to send us your suggestions, also regarding safety and security. The committee will consider it, if workable and implementable.
