Pre-paid electricity customers advised of vending system maintenance on 6/7 November
The City of Cape Town’s pre-paid electricity vending system will be shut down for essential maintenance between 21:00 on 6 November and 05:00 on 7 November 2013. This shutdown will disable all vending systems and will therefore also affect all purchases of electricity.
All consumers who fall within the City of Cape Town’s supply areas will not be able to purchase pre-paid electricity units during these hours. Consumers directly supplied by Eskom will not be affected.
The City would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused, however, due to unforeseen circumstances during the original upgrade, the required work could not be completed within the allotted time.
Consumers are encouraged to purchase all necessary electricity units beforehand to avoid being left in the dark.
Should residents wish to be updated on the progress of the upgrade, they are welcome to contact the Electricity Technical Operations Centre on 0860 103 089, or to send an SMS to 31220.
